Daydream Fairy Party
 Daydream Fairy
Tips and ideas
for your little girl's magical Daydream Fairy party.
***For
a fun twist have the guests arrive dressed as little
fairies. As the guests walk through the door
sprinkle fairy dust on them***
Activities/Games
-
Fairy
Garland Crown- To complete the fairies'
costumes make flower wreath crown's. You will
need small silk flowers or paper flowers which can
be purchased at your local craft store and ribbon.
Holding a flower in one hand tightly wrap the ribbon
around the stem of the flower then add another
flower and do the same. You will repeat the
process until the wreath is large enough for the
child's head. Once the wreath is large
enough tie a knot at the end. You can leave
the excess ribbon to hang down freely, add bead or
make into a bow. You can also have the guests
make bracelets and use these as centerpieces around
the tables.
-
Fairy Dust-In
small plastic tubes or vials put glitter. Add
some string or ribbon to make a necklace.
-
Clothespin Tag-
Similar to freeze tag except you give
each guest 3 clothespins to wear, excluding the
birthday child. The birthday child will tag
another player, that player must freeze until a
free player comes by and takes one of the frozen
player’s clothespins. When a frozen player has no
pins left, he or she must remain frozen until the
game is over. The last free player is the winner.
Note: For more fun, decorate the clothespins like
tiny fairies!
-
Fantastic Fairy Tales-This activity is a
great way to bring your party to an end. To begin,
ask one guest to begin telling a traditional fairy
tale. Move around the circle and let each guest
add a new installment to the story, being as
imaginative as they like. Your party guests will
have fun dreaming up outlandish tales with this
fun activity.
Yummy
Treats
-
Fairy Wands-Make your favorite sugar
cookies using a star-shaped cookie cutter. When
the cookies are still warm and soft to the touch,
carefully push a plastic straw between any two
points of the star to make the wand.
Make icing by sifting confectioners’ sugar into a
bowl and slowly mixing in hot water until it
becomes smooth. Add a few drops of pastel-colored
food coloring and frost. These fairy wand cookies
are delicate, but they’re delicious and a lot of
fun to eat!
-
Sparkling Cider-Sparkling cider served in
fancy glasses will make your little sprites feel
extra special! Garnish each drink with a fresh
flower (or a piece of colorful fruit) on the rim
of the glass. After they’ve finished their drinks,
your guests will enjoy decorating their hair with
the flowers.
-
Fairy Sandwiches-Use theme-related cookie
cutters to make ordinary sandwiches more fun! Make
your child’s favorite type of sandwiches and cut
them into stars, flowers or fairies!
-
Dreamy Fruit Parfait-This
refreshing treat is sure to be a highlight at your
party. In parfait cups, layer yogurt, granola and
fresh fruit. Top the cups with whipped cream and
serve with long-handled spoons!
-
Fairy Pillows-Your guests will be in
seventh heaven when they taste these puffy cookies
that look just like tiny pillows! To make them,
you will need: 4 egg whites, 1/4 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp
cream of tartar, 1-1/2 cups sugar, 1 tsp vanilla,
and 1 cup white chocolate chips. Preheat the oven
to 300° F. Separate egg whites from the yolks, and
beat egg whites until frothy. Add salt and cream
of tartar. Beat on high until stiff peaks form.
Slowly add sugar, a tablespoon at a time. Beat
well after each addition. Add vanilla. Fold in
chips. Bake on a lightly greased cookie sheet for
18-20 min. until firm. Store in an airtight
container until snack time.
Decorating
Tips
Spread your
table cover on your party table. If your child has
any theme-related toys, you can add them to the
table for a more festive display.
Cut several
one-to-two-foot-long pieces of curling ribbon. Curl
the ribbon by pulling it between your thumb and the
blade of your scissors. Lay the resulting curls on
your table for added color. Hang balloons in bunches
for the best effect. If you choose to fill balloons
with helium, wait until the party day to ensure they
float well!
Use balloons to mark
the party spot; hang them on the mailbox, near the
front door, or tie them to the birthday child's
chair to mark the seat of honor.
Place balloons
anywhere that strikes your fancy. The more the
better!
Gather six or eight
streamers and attach them to the ceiling in the
center of the party room (or over the table). Use a
light fixture over the table, if you have one, as
the center point for the streamers.
To
create colorful two-tone streamers, put two
differently colored streamers back-to-back, twist as
you walk them to the wall, and attach at shoulder
height.
